D.W. Wilburn served as general contractor both phases of the new Business & Technology Complex at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky.

 

The 78,000 sf facility includes classrooms as well as offices for both administration and faculty, including the dean’s office and college advising offices. The building also houses offices for EKU’s Small Business Development Center, the Center for Economic Development, Entrepreneurship and Technology, the Eastern Innovation Region of the Office for the New Economy, and EKU Business.

 

Project challenges included site considerations and drainage, as well as construction on an active college campus in close proximity to existing facilities and students.
